I think these early version of this tune totally rip. Even though there are more blatant mistakes, we were much more on the same page than the final video version. It's both tighter and more fraught.

I wrote several of these riffs in Jan of 2009 up in Portland, went down to Sacramento and worked on sculpting them into a tune with Zach. I think maybe we played for 2-3 days before going in to record the video that was made by Sean Stout and Andy Morin. This version was recorded on my handheld stereo recorder maybe the day before that video was recorded.

I didn't know that Zach was going to end up putting the song on his album until after it was heading to press.
